After four months of (almost) 24/7 helmet wearing, Jack is finally done! After his scan last week, the doctor said his head reshaping was complete and we can retire the helmet to the shelf forever. Overall the past four months have gone by quickly and smoothly. Jack never seemed to mind wearing the helmet, and in fact I think it was great protection for his head while he was learning to stand, climb and walk. My favorite part about the helmet were all the reactions we got from the public. Of course we got plenty of compliments from our fellow Houston Texans fans, but there were some other interesting comments as well. A few people were very impressed with how well he was doing following his "brain surgery" while others commented that he "must fall down a lot!" One mom even came up to me in a store and asked where she could get one for her son because he was always bumping his head! We had a lot of fun with our little "Texan" and his helmet, but now that he is finished wearing his helmet, maybe he will finally grow some hair?!?!

My happy helmet free boy! |
So glad he is done with his little helmet - although he was really precious in it - and if the Texans do well in the playoffs he may have to break it out just for fun. :)
